School is eating my brain. I didn't expect the impeding doom to strike so soon, but alas, I spent my Friday night reading about food politics. It's more interesting than you think. Really. Like how the USDA is simultaneously responsible for promoting agriculture AND for dishing out health/diet advice to the public when it's all too obvious that the Deptartment of Health is better equipped. And of the USDA's dual responsibilities, guess which side has better lobbyists? Hmmm, tough one.
Back in St. Louis I was waiting on a couple whose daughter was a lobbyist for the tobacco industry.
I miss hoosiers.
